Laut

I had the pleasure of spending last weekend with some of my college buddies, and we literally traveled from union square to mid-town to Williamsburg and up-and-down again the next day, and then the day after that.

I had the best chicken rice I've had for a long time at Laut in union square. I shared this and the shrimp with basil sauce with my boyfriend. We shared roti (a Malaysian type of pancake) with the table and it was crispy and delicious. The last time I went, my friends and I started talking to an Indonesian waitress named Pinky who told us about her daughter and her life in Singapore. She was so sweet and remembered us the second time. I kinda wish I could go back sooner. You can't go wrong with friendly waitstaff and good food, right?
